Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: A perimeter has been established around SCP-XXXX's SAFE ZONE. Personnel are to be turned away from the perimeter using the cover story of a sinkhole. As of Exploration 03, Foundation personnel are forbidden from entering SCP-XXXX-Beta without written permission from either Provisional Site XXXX's HMCL supervisor or Project Head/XXXX.

Once a day, at solar noon, six selected personnel are to perform Procedure XXXX-EROS at the border of the SAFE ZONE. Procedure XXXX-EROS has been found to be most effective when preformed at equidistant intervals along the border of the SAFE ZONE. On a biweekly basis, a single member of D-Class personnel will approach SCP-XXXX, walking in a spiral pattern, until they encounter SCP-XXXX-Alpha. This is to be used to determine the new bounds of the SAFE ZONE.

In the event that the bounds of the SAFE ZONE reaches over one kilometer in diameter, or if the SAFE ZONE expands more than 0.7 meters in one inspection period, the emergency level of SCP-XXXX will be raised to ALPHA. At this point:

  • All settlements within a 20 kilometer radius of SCP-XXXX are to be evacuated.
  • Scranton Reality Anchors are to be placed on 100 meter intervals along the border of the SAFE ZONE to prevent localized ontokinetic phenomena.
  • A small thermonuclear device will be detonated on SCP-XXXX in order to destroy it.
  • Foundation personnel will be put at the ready to engage any hostile entities in combat.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a complex of buildings located in █████ Forest, Germany. Outwardly, SCP-XXXX appears to be a university campus in a derelict state. However, thaumturgical materials have been found within SCP-XXXX, implying that this was most likely a front for other operations.

SCP-XXXX-Alpha is a spatial anomaly centered around SCP-XXXX. As of the time of writing, the exact locations of SCP-XXXX-Alpha are unknown, due to the danger involved in going within SCP-XXXX’s SAFE ZONE. Entering SCP-XXXX-Alpha will transport the subject to SCP-XXXX-Beta: an alternate reality superficially resembling medieval Germany. Returning to reality through SCP-XXXX-Alpha has an estimated 43% success rate.

Addendum: The following letter was found at the doorstep of Provisional Site XXXX:

To whom it may concern,

It looks like you found De'trajt. This breaks every protocol I know, I'm not supposed to contact you, but you're seriously losing against him, and you need help.

There's a ritual on the backside of this letter. USE IT. We tried our damnest to keep De'trajt back, we really did. This should keep him away until we can figure out something to put him away for good.

- Albrecht Shmidt, Adept

On the backside of the letter were a serious of instructions that were later derived to create Procedure XXXX-EROS. Testing revealed that Procedure XXXX-EROS was several times more effective at slowing SCP-XXXX-Alpha than existing Scranton Reality Anchors, and containment was reformed using this new method.

Exploration Logs

As of the time of writing, three full incursions into SCP-XXXX-Beta have taken place.
