Special Containment Procedures: Containment of SCP-5000 is not currently needed due to the group's disbandment. If the group is found to have become active, it is to be monitored and allowed to operate until a situation were the Veil is threatened.

If SCP-5000-1 is found to have survived Event-5000, a Class 4 Nexus Removal Operation is to be undertaken in an attempt to neutralize it before a large amount of civilian causalities can occur. Site-81¹ is currently monitoring Nexus-14 (Weston, West Virgina) for signs of increased anomalous occurrences.

Description: SCP-5000 was a group of non-anomalous young adults who referred to themselves as "The Weston Society" and utilized anomalous objects in an attempt to terminate an anomalous entity responsible for anomalous occurrences within Nexus-14 (Weston, West Virginia) during the mid to late 1980s. This entity (hereafter referred to as SCP-5000-1) is believed to have been located within the basement level of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum². SCP-5000 disbanded in late 1989 following an unknown event (hereafter referred to as Event-5000) within the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, which resulted in the partial termination of SCP-5000-1 and the death of a member named Louis Fitzroy.

SCP-5000 was first brought to Foundation attention after an agent embedded within Sugar Grove Station reported that National Security Agency agents had unknowingly detected a rapid increase in Hume levels within Nx-14, resulting from Event-5000. A short investigation into the incident revealed the existence of SCP-5000 and their actions within Nx-14, but failed to reveal the identities of the members of the group. Further investigations into SCP-5000 were halted until 08/11/2013, when Agent Devorah Adani made an unsanctioned trip to Nx-14. Agent Adani was apprehended upon her return to Site-12 on 15/11/2013. Senior Agent Thomas Shaw then questioned her, the transcript of which is included below. Subsequent questionings of Agent Adani are also included below.

Agent Shaw: Hello Adani.

Agent Adani: Shaw.

Shaw: I understand you made a trip to Nexus-14. Is that right?

Adani: Do you really have to ask?

Shaw: It's protocol Adani, you know this. Now, answer the question.

Adani: Yes.

Shaw: Yes what?

Adani: Yes I made a trip to Weston.

Shaw: There we go! Now, can you tell me why you went there?

Adani sits in silence before answering.

Adani: I had unfinished business there.

Shaw: Is that right. What kind of unfinished business?

Adani: The kind you probably don't have clearance to know about.

Shaw: I doubt it. Answer the question or you're not going to remember you even existed.

Adani: I'm pretty sure there's something in the handbook against making threats.

Shaw: Adani I swear to God I will-

Adani: The Weston Society.

Shaw: What?

Adani: SCP-5000: The Weston Society. I went to Weston because I was finishing what they started.

Shaw: How do you know about SCP-5000?

Adani: I know, because I was a member.

Shaw: Well then. I don't think I have clearance for that.

Adani: No one does, because this is first time I've said it to anyone.

Agent Shaw sits in silence.

Adani: Well?

Shaw: Well what?

Adani: Aren't you going to do something?

Shaw: I'm thinking about what I want to do, Adani. We don't have a protocol for this, as far as I know.

Adani: You could just shoot me where I sit.

Shaw: I could but I have a better idea, there's a Researcher named Gardener. She's been trying to reopen investigation into 5000 for a good few years now. I want you to talk to her.

Adani: Why's that?

Shaw: So you can be useful before I shoot you. Go back to your quarters and get some rest Adani, you'll need it.

Agent Shaw: Welcome back Adani, this is Researcher Gardener.

Agent Adani: I could guess.

Researcher Gardener: Sorry to keep you waiting Agent Adani, I had to be offsite until an hour or so ago.

Adani: I get that, the Director likes to keep all of us busy.

Shaw: I'll leave you to it Erika, I have work of my own to get to. If you need anything, just motion towards the agent in the viewing room.

Gardener: Thank you Thomas.

Agent Shaw leaves the room.

Adani: First name basis, huh?

Gardener: That's not important. Now, I've heard you have a first hand account of SCP-5000.

Adani: You could say that.

Gardener: Perfect! I want you to tell me everything you know about SCP-5000, from the very beginning.

Adani: Everything?

Gardener: Yes, everything related to SCP-5000.

Adani: Alright, well let's see. It started with a cat.

Gardener: A cat?

Adani: Yes, a cat. There was a cat who lived in the shed behind my house. I named it Danny after hearing my mother call it 'that damn cat.' Every night I would go out to the shed and feed it some leftovers. Well one night, I went out and found Danny laying on the ground in front of the shed. It was covered in blood. When I got close it meowed weakly at me, before it was lifted up by some invisible force and torn to pieces.

Gardener: Oh Christ that's awful!

Adani: It gets worst. Those pieces were all then smushed back together in a vague resemblance of the cat they had been. I just stood there frozen in fear until it looked over at me and gurgled. That was when I screamed and ran inside. I didn't tell my mother what had happened. I didn't want her to have to see it. The next morning the thing was gone. I don't like to think of where it could have gone.

Adani: I couldn't sleep for a week after that. A few days after I finally started being able to go to sleep I saw a little announcement in the school newspaper. It was for a new club, called The Mystery Club. It went something like, "There are strange things going on in Weston, join the Mystery Club find out why." I knew I had to join, if only to finally tell someone else about Danny. The first meeting was on a Friday night, in an old storage room off the library that smelled like mothballs and old books.

Adani: I was the last one to show up. We all sat around an old card table and a boy stood up and said, "If you're here, then that means you've seen something you can't explain. My name is Louis and I saw a boat fall out of the sky." Everyone took turns doing that, telling us their name and the strange thing they had seen. There was a boy named David who saw a squirrel climb through the air, another boy named Hugo who saw a woman on a bicycle vanish while crossing the street, and a brother/sister pair named Stanley and Margret who had jointly witnessed a tree grow from a sapling to an adult in the span of seconds. I went last. They didn't like my cat story.

Adani: We made a pact that night in that old dusty room. A pact to not rest until we stopped whatever was causing our town to become strange. And we did find out, that summer. We spent the rest of the school year getting to know each other and investigating every strange thing we could. We became fast friends. All we hit were dead ends until the third day of summer break. Louis's mother was the chief of police in Weston, and he heard her talking to someone over the phone about an incident at the Asylum. Now, the Asylum, I think it's called Weston State Hospital now, was smack dab in the center of town. Everyone knew about it. There was even a rumor that a crazy doctor used to experiment on patients there in to 30s.

Adani: I wish the worst thing in there was some crazy guy. That night we all met up and rode our bikes up to the Asylum. Other than a close encounter with a cop car, we didnt have much trouble getting there. When we got there, the whole building was dark. There wasn't a single light on in any of the windows. I remember thinking that was strange, but we kept going anyways. We hid our bikes in some bushes and snuck in through a broken door covered in that yellow "do not cross" tape. That stuff never keeps anyone out.

Adani: That door led to some sort of maintenance room. The whole room was a mess, there was broken machinery everywhere, and chunks were taken out of the walls and ceiling. A path of destruction led further into the building, and we followed it. We didn't encounter a single soul in there. Almost like the place was abandoned. The path ended at a hole in the floor. Below it was another hole, a deeper one. Our flashlights couldn't reach the bottom.

Gardener: A hole?

Adani: Yeah, just a massive hole in the basement floor. I assume it was made by the entity, but it doesn't really matter. It's not there anymore, it closed after I went back.

Gardener: I see, well, you can continue.

Adani: We were trying to decide whether we wanted to go down into basement or not when Margret noticed something moving down in the basement.

Everyone was terrified, but we were alive. We had found the source. The cause of everything strange in our town. We had no idea what to do next.

Shaw: You would be right. What do you know about your partner?

McWilliam: For a start, I know she's a damn fine agent.

Shaw: She's not in trouble, not yet anyways. I meant what do you know about her past.

Researcher Gardener: Now that you finished your history of SCP-5000, could you tell me what occurred during your trip to Weston?

Agent Adani: Well, I went back to do two things. The first was to pay my respects to Louis. The second was to finish what we started all those years ago in the asylum. His grave was up at the old church, right next to his father's. I cried there, at his grave. A lifetime of tears. It hurt being back, but I didn't care. I tried to get in contact with his mother, but she didn't live in town anymore. I cant imagine how much it hurt to lose both her husband and son in one place.

Adani pauses.

Adani: After that I headed to our little storeroom, and grabbed the baseball. I hoped I wouldn't need it. It was getting dark when I got to the Asylum, but I didn't care.

Gardener: Do you mind if I ask you something Devorah?

Adani: Sure.

Gardener: According to my records there was only ever one female member of SCP-5000, the girl named Margret that you mentioned.

Adani: Do you remember the boy with the crush on Louis?

Gardener: Yes what about him?

Agent Adani motions with her hand.

Gardener: Oh.

Adani: Yeah.

Gardener: I'm sorry if it was hard for you to tell us your story Devorah.

Adani: No, it's alright Erika. I'm past that point, I think. I've already cried, I've already been angry at everything and everyone, I've already cut myself off from everyone. I just wanted it to be done with.

Gardener: I understand that feeling. I'm glad you could get closure.

Adani: So am I.
