Description: SCP-4297 is a grand piano with a liquid state.
Spectroscopy suggests liquid SCP-4297 is an organometallic complex, with distinct, large hydrocarbon molecules surrounding a metallic core. SCP-4297 is insoluble in water and polar solvents, and sparingly soluble in toluene and benzene. SCP-4297 has a freezing point of 11.9 °C and decomposes at 729 °C before boiling.
When cooled below its freezing point, a quantity of liquid SCP-4297 simply recrystallizes into a proportionally sized, functional grand piano; i.e., freezing a few drops of SCP-4297 will result in a piano roughly 1 cm wide. SCP-4297 is nontoxic when ingested, as it passes through the digestive tract unabsorbed. However, SCP-4297 possesses mutagenic properties when injected intravenously.
Over a period of 4-6 days, all sounds produced by the body of a subject injected with SCP-4297 become replaced with soft piano sounds. Despite significant integration of SCP-4297 suspensions into the bloodstream, subjects exhibit no other detriments to their overall health.
If an SCP-4297 subject touches another musical instrument, this instrument will fold and reshape itself into a piano (conserving mass), while the subject's body (hereon SCP-4297-A) will contort into the shape of the other instrument. The subject remains conscious during and after this transformation, and will reversibly sublimate into vapor above 45 °C. The subject's sounds will be a combination of piano sounds and those of the new instrument.
