Item #: SCP-3659

Object Class: Keter Safe

Updated Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3659 is kept in Site-119 for use by Surveillance and Analysis Department personnel. SCP-3659-A is kept in a standard lockbox and requires O5 permission to use in conjunction with SCP-3659.

Description: SCP-3659 is a globe that mirrors Earth in real time.

SCP-3659 depicts the Earth to a high degree of accuracy; viewing SCP-3659 with appropriate implements allows features on the scale of buildings to be distinguished.

SCP-3659-A is a gardening glove covered in sigils and paint. If a person wears this glove and directly interacts with SCP-3659, Earth is similarly affected (though the forces applied are not to scale).

SCP-3659 and SCP-3659-A were created by one Clarence Steinbeck (POI-3425), a known anarchist. Upon creating SCP-3659 and testing its properties, he attempted to reach the United States government through various means, considering himself a terrorist.

Foundation agents embedded in the US government intercepted communications with POI-3425 and took over negotiations while posing as government officials; standard coverup procedures were enacted.

POI-3425 communicated with the Foundation through video calls, and used anomalous means to conceal his location. After proving his ability to exploit the connection between SCP-3659 and Earth (see Incident Log-3659/A21), he proceeded to make several outlandish demands, including the immediate resignation of the United States president, dissolution of the United Nations, destruction of the Statue of Liberty, and the abolition of sales tax.

Despite the inability to pinpoint POI-3425's location through his connection, Foundation agents were able to interfere with POI-3425's internet traffic and television signals, and produced fake news broadcasts and posts claiming his demands had been met.

During a later communication with POI-3425, he became irritable and began making more and more ridiculous demands, as well as taunting the agents involved by posing next to SCP-3659 and making offensive comments and gestures, before sitting down and declaring his intention to masturbate on camera.

Researcher Mira Marquez noticed that the portion of SCP-3659 directly facing POI-3425 contained the location of the Palanez-Kumail Array Dish, and contacted personnel from the Orbital Division.

While agents attempted to keep POI-3425 in the same position, Marquez and the Orbital Division quickly redirected the Foundation orbital weapons platform Gomorrah and fired its neutron beam cannon directly at the Palanez-Kumail Array Dish, which reflected it into space. Simultaneously, the miniature version of the Dish present on SCP-3659 reflected a beam into POI-3425's head, killing him instantly.
