SCP-XXXX-1.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The entrance to SCP-XXXX-1 has been sealed indefinitely.
Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective designation for two anomalous objects.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a large, submerged structure located under the Arabika Massif in Georgia. SCP-XXXX-1 is accessed via a maintenance shaft containing a single ladder, descending a total of approximately three and a half kilometers. People in contact with the ladder gain temporary dexterity, stamina, and nutrition necessary to descend its full length without any harm or injury.
SCP-XXXX-1 was, upon discovery, sealed with a single metal plaque labeled "SCP Foundation — Department of Abnormalities". No records of a "Department of Abnormalities" exist in Foundation databases.
At the bottom of the ladder is a small, unfurnished room with a single door on its southern wall. Although the door was initially locked with a thaumaturgic rune, it has deteriorated to the point of non-functionality, and any writing present on the door is illegible. Subjects entering this room experience a minor compulsion to proceed deeper into SCP-XXXX-1.
As an individual continues through SCP-XXXX-1, their perception of color will gradually begin to diminish, and they will experience a number of medical deficiencies. Nausea, lethargy, chest pain, headaches, and discomfort have been reported during this time, with no discernible patterns among subjects. Physically weaker individuals are more likely to overcome the compulsion effect and attempt to turn back; stronger subjects generally continue forward.
Any subject capable of walking the entire distance of SCP-XXXX-1 (approximately two kilometers) will enter a large, unlit room.
