Special Containment Procedures: A detachment of five security officers is to remain on-site to prevent unauthorized access to SCP-XXXX. Explorations into Sub-Basement 3 are to proceed only with approval from persons with Level 4 clearance or above.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a defunct cybernetics and robotics laboratory located in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to its seizure in November 2019, SCP-XXXX served as a fabrication center for anomalous circuitry, apparently intended for use in the construction of neural-machine interfaces and artificially intelligent robots. SCP-XXXX is not overtly anomalous, but its existence and apparent history has proven entirely impossible to verify by municipal, corporate or other extant records.
SCP-XXXX came into Foundation custody on 6/24/2019, shortly after the completion of Site-7. All equipment, regardless of its anomalous nature or lack of same, was transferred to Site-7 for storage and research purposes. SCP-XXXX was then transferred into the custody of Smith-Carlton Print Works, a Foundation front company.
Location of SCP-XXXX-1.
Six months into operation, onsite chief of security Agent Emmanuel Dirge reported the discovery of a spatial anomaly (since designated SCP-XXXX-1) by a civilian employee in Sub-Basement 3. Other civilian employees then approached SCP-XXXX-1, attempting to photograph and document it on social media. However, they were impeded in this by the anomaly's properties, and Agent Dirge signaled Site-7 for aid and the involved individuals were interrogated and amnesticized.
SCP-XXXX-1 itself is a heretofore unknown form of anomalous portal. It is Hume-neutral, and therefore not likely to have been created by a conventional ontokinetic entity. Ritual and spiritual tensors are not triggered by proximity to SCP-XXXX-1, suggesting it is not connected to deific, demonic, or divine entities or phenomena. Additionally, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to have no measurable anomalous effect on its surrounding spacetime, suggesting it is not a gravitational or relativistic anomaly.
SCP-XXXX-1 manifests as an audiovisual phenomenon only perceptible by sentient biological organisms. It appears to the naked eye as an eight-faced, gray-blue tetrahedral prism. When interacted with physically, SCP-XXXX-1 alters surrounding objects into tessellations of itself, and, over the course of several seconds, these modified objects spontaneously reform into a dimly lit tunnel. From the perspective of an outside observer, a subject entering SCP-XXXX-1 is converted to the same substance and then integrated into the anomaly. See addenda for additional information.
Human subjects are also able to perceive the following message being perpetually broadcast by SCP-XXXX-1:
This is Anthony Sprater, to - ah, shit. There's no proof it's me. Or, or which Anthony Sprater I am. Um… okay, my social security number was ███-██-████. Yeah. That should do it. So this is Anthony Sprater, calling the SCP Foundation or… or anyone else still able to hear me… on the other side. I have information critical to your mission… please. Come through the anomaly.
This social security number was traced to a six year old boy by the name of Anthony Miles Sprater, a resident of Salem, Oregon. Notably, persons exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 universally report its voice to be that of an elderly man.
Addendum XXXX-1: Exploration
In initial tests, mechanical surveillance devices, drones, and other such items proved incapable of recording or transmitting information from within SCP-XXXX-1. Additionally, none of the initial test objects or D-Class subjects returned from SCP-XXXX-1, suggesting that conditions on its far side may complicate or prevent return transit. In order to resolve these issues and advance understanding of SCP-XXXX-1, an astral projection adept by the name of Sara Pock was recruited from GoI-401 ("Adylrock Armistice") to serve as a medium for exploring personnel. In cooperation with Foundation psychotronics researchers, Ms. Pock designed a procedure by which she could share in the thoughts and perceptions of a given person and transcribe their experiences of SCP-XXXX-1. In this manner, the following logs were gathered.
Date: 1/5/2020
Subjects: D-9009
Foreword: Ms. Pock was instructed in elementary stenography before attempting this procedure. However, due to her inexperience, she was allowed additional time and discretion in directing fielded personnel. The following is the log as originally written by Ms. Pock, edited for formatting and with annotations in blue.
Dr. Wythers, D-9009, and two security staff are in the presence of SCP-XXXX-1. Ms. Pock is in an upstairs office with her transcription materials, ritual components, and ritual assistant, Junior Researcher Adam Kacym. Ms. Pock has completed the ritual and is attuned to D-9009 as this transcription commences.
Dr. Wythers: Alright, Sara. Can you hear me?
Pock: [using D-9009 as a transceiver] Yup.
Dr. Wythers: And how many fingers am I holding up?
Pock: Two!
D-9009: This is so fucking weird.
Pock: You only have to hear what I tell you on purpose. I have to see everything in your thoughts whether you want me to or not.
D-9009: So you can -
Dr. Wythers: Stop. It's too confusing if you two talk with just the one voice. If you're synced up, we can just go ahead.
Pock: I'm ready.
D-9009: Let's get this over with.
Dr. Wythers: Alright. Enter the anomaly, please.
D-9009 goes inside the SCP.
