Chapter II.XVI

[I'm going to keep this outline as simple as I can. Faeowynn knocks on Robin's door, thoughw we the readers aren't sure whose door it is at first, and she gets not much of a response. She knows Robin is home. She speaks to him, one-sided, for a while. At some point, he opens his door, and she steps inside. She's never actually been in his room. Robin still doesn't say anything for a while, and lets Fae stumble through her "speech". When he does speak, it is at first very spiteful. In fact, Fae stops talking, and it's Robin's time to just spill. And so he does. He spills, and spills, and spills. Here will be that moment where it's like "it's not like I had more of a dad than you did", that whole speech I've been saving in the back of my head for a while. Big emotional scene. His speech slowly turns from really angry, to more emotional, sad shit. I mean, it's still angry, because Robin gets angry when he's sad, but it's crying type angry. Vulnerable angry. When it seems like he's done, there's a pause. Fae says something like "I'm really sorry, I never knew." "Yeah that much was fucking obvious." "I'm sorry, I'm not great with handling stuff like this." "Don't worry. All I've had to talk to is Anders, and he's not great either." There's a lot of awkwardness. But then Fae starts talking again, about Tim this time, and a dialogue starts happening. They actually start speaking, and Robin begins to loosen up, and become more empathetic. At some point: "Have you found a job?" "I haven't been looking." Pause. "Would you like to come back? No one has really filled your position, you know." Pause. "I think I'd like that." They apologize for stuff. Both of them. To each other. At some point in this, Faeowynn gestures to the paintings that fill his room. "I didn't know you were a painter." "Only Anders ever knew." "Did you know I'm a writer?" "I didn't." They share with each other about art for a moment, and that seems to get things back to a good place. Not just an acceptable place, but a good place. They end by hugging. "Sorry I'm such a dick." "Say it past tense, please." "Sorry I was such a dick." "That's better."]

[Brief description of the huge meeting, in which the Boring Agreement is amended. Robin is there. Shit is said. Big celebration at its conclusion. Some mention of how WWS is allowed interactions with other Groups of Interest, in direct contradiction to a previous rule set about (this would have had to be mentioned much earlier in the series, when Holly describes how she knew Tim). In fact, maybe Holly can be at this meeting? Shrug there.]

[The Wilsons family is in their backyard. Anders, Robin, Holly, and Fae sit on their deck, discussing what's going to happen next. They have white hot chocolates, courtesy of Holly, while Alice spars with someone some feet from them. Eventually her sparring partner is revealed to be Alex, maybe when he fails spectacularly and they laugh about it. Fae and him have a glance at each other. "I don't know exactly where we're going, but I know it's going to be good." Robin laughs. "Cheers to that."]
