Characters
The IDWBS Arc
Eric - A reality warper. 15 at the time of IDWBS. Amnesiac (doesn't remember much before the age of 8). Used to be aware of his anomalous abilities, now he rationalizes them away. Was homeschooled from the age of 8 until the events of IDWBS. Sometimes does drugs (prefers weed to alcohol). Desperately lonely. Only wants to be liked, maybe even loved. Bisexual. Tends to get romantically involved with his friends; Theresa (see below) suspects this is so that he can process his failures as heartbreak rather than loss of friendship.
Olivia "Liv" Reynolds - Eric's ex-girlfriend. Computer whiz. Tends to rush into things without thinking them through. Veil adjacent; she's normal, but others may have their eye on her. Heterosexual but a great ally. Best friends with Martin.
Martin Macauley - A former friend of Eric. He was the first person to become Eric's friend. Gay and out, but not one to tell people. Nonanomalous. Best friends with Liv. Dating Jake.
Jacob "Jake" Barrett - Martin's sort of boyfriend. Jock (basketball). Generally charismatic, but known to act differently on his own vs with his jock friends. Nonanomalous. Some flavor of queer. Big heart.
Katherine - Eric's therapist. Nonanomalous. Just a good therapist, and Eric's only real support system prior to meeting Martin and Liv.
Eric's Mom - Eric's mom. Non-confrontational. Difficult relationship with Eric; she suspects something about his anomalies but doesn't know what to make of them.
Eric's Dad - Eric's dad. Prone to anger. Insecure. Bad relationship with Eric. Underwent a massive personality shift after IDWBS.
The Theresa Arc
Theresa - Made aware of the anomalous world at a young age by her mother, a member of the serpent's hand. Grew up split between WL and the real world. While nonanomalous herself, she's able to use the anomalous to achieve her goals. Good with people, but wary of them. Observant to a fault. Met many friends in the WL; not all of them worked out so well. Dated Eric at the ages of 17-18. The only one of Eric's friends to understand what he is. Bisexual.
Sigurros - Reality warper. 10 at the time of the Wanderer's Library Monthly Youth Book Club. Was in a coma between the ages of 8-10, but seems to have memories of being those ages. Caught between several realities. Technically in custody by the Foundation, but has "found" (created) a Way to the WL in her own cell. Was unable to interact with anybody her age until the age of 10. This has left her lacking in social skills but desperate to make friends. Had a big falling out with Theresa.
Patroclus - Nonbinary. An overdramatic theatre nerd. Vaguely friends with Theresa, became closer to her after Eric's arrival. Briefly dated Eric for a few months when they were 19. Nonanomalous. Gay in all directions.
Allison "Alice" Chao - One of the many Allison Chaos running around the library. 16 at the time of the Wanderer's Library Monthly Youth Book Club. Facilitated the book club as a test by L.S. Thought of as a big sister to all the children who visit the library. Feels the needs of those who depend on her
"Ya boi" Al - Nonbinary. One of the many Allison Chaos running around the library. 19 at the time of the Wanderer's Library Monthly Youth Book Club. Doesn't take much seriously. Strained relationship with the other Chaos, particularly Alice, secretly does want to be taken seriously.
