Description: Prior to 2013-04-05, all documentation on SCP-677-EX was either corrupted, expunged, or irretrievably deleted. The primary database entry for the anomaly was devoid of useful information, and was headed by the following Do Not Investigate order, apparently designed to instil fear:

Information surrounding SCP-677 is dangerous, and may lead to physical trauma, mental trauma, or death. SCP-677 is a Critical Risk contagious infohazard. Further explanation puts you, and everyone else, in danger. Containment is ongoing. Investigation will not be tolerated.

The false warning presented in the original documentation for SCP-677-EX.
Resources provisioned to the SCP-677-EX containment project were consistent with a permanent staff of 3, a large shielded containment unit, and personnel accommodations including food, water, and electricity. Requisitioned food was reliably ~30% lower than expected for a research team of that size, and entertainment almost non-existent. These facts were not consciously investigated due to the belief that SCP-677-EX posed a credible memetic or antimemetic threat.
The true nature of SCP-677-EX was discovered on 2013-04-05, when the user certificate signing the DNI order expired. Renewal was performed by a Level 0 technician who had insufficient clearance to view the order itself. A discrepancy in the certificate was flagged: the signing user was not Dir. Wheeler, but Dr. Ross Sancho (now Person of Interest 677), a Level 3 analytical researcher in poor standing.
All records of both Dr. Sancho and his two subordinates were deliberately expunged by Sancho just prior to their collective disappearance in the latter half of 2011; the sole remaining reference to each was a cross-reference listing them as active participants in the containment project. Very little discussion occurred as to their whereabouts, and the two victims were not located until 2013-04-09, by which time one had expired and the other required emergency medical intervention. Due to the cooperation of archival staff with the DNI order and the mass deletion of relevant documents, precise details of the intervening years are unknown.
Outside of the research team, at least twenty-four personnel submitted to voluntary amnestic treatment as a result of PoI-677's DNI order, some multiple times. In most cases these were friends or relations of the victims whose personal attachment prevented them from ignoring SCP-677-EX entirely. Five civilians with active ties to the victims were forcibly amnesticised by staff attempting to enforce the order. Two of the affected personnel requested permanent relocation due to the resurgence of repressed memories, and at least one case of suicide in the line of duty is believed to be directly traceable to SCP-677-EX.
It is the belief of the Ethics Committee that the existence of SCP-677-EX represents a severe lapse of judgement on behalf of supervising staff, and a glaring blind spot in oversight protocol. The actions of PoI-677 are condemned in the strongest possible terms.
For reasons of operational security, any remaining documentation on SCP-677-EX (other than this file) has been deliberately miscategorised under Directive SNOWMELT1 and consequently expunged. Out of an abundance of caution, no attempt has been made to contact either the surviving victim nor any others directly affected by PoI-677's actions.
The current whereabouts of PoI-677 are unknown. No further investigation is planned.
