SCP-2834

Item #: SCP-2834

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2834 is to be kept in a high-value anomalous object locker. Testing with SCP-2834 is prohibited.

Description: SCP-2834 is 35 milliliters of India Ink contained in a generic inkwell. Any text written with SCP-2834 immediately alters phenomena or objects associated within the text. Thereupon, a short-term temporal shift occurs, reestablishing the current timeline several hours prior to any interaction with SCP-2834.

Acquisition of the item, along with associated possessions, occurred after a Foundation raid on known anartist Jean Baptiste (PoI-XXXX). Each possession was written in ink matching SCP-2834. Of note, a small text prompt was left near SCP-2834:

I am not really here, I am someone else. Somewhere else.

All items found in PoI-XXXX's posession were subject to routine testing procedures. Prior to testing the India Ink utilizing a fiber-tipped Pitt pen, researchers discovered that 500 experiment log entries had already been uploaded to the database.1

It was noted that the entries were extremely similar to the first proposed test, save for the exact color of the pen. RAISA analysts reported a Type-8L reality disruption event in DEEPWELL server logs corresponding to each uploaded test entry. The entries were never updated, suggesting the experiments in question were not fully carried out.

A selection from the experiment log is reproduced below:

Subject: D-41562
Procedure: D-41562 was instructed to write that their pen was green (instead of red).
Result: [NO DATA]

Subject: D-41562
Procedure: D-41562 was instructed to write that their pen was yellow (instead of blue).
Result: [NO DATA]

Subject: D-41562
Procedure: D-41562 was instructed to write that their pen was red (instead of yellow).
Result: [NO DATA]

The pen provisioned for testing had the color specified in the last experiment entry.

Subsequent tests in the following weeks produced similar results. No other anomalous property was found. Proposals as to the exact nature of SCP-2834 were written by researchers. Protocol was breached when Researcher Patel had finished his thesis, and as a demonstration, uploaded the document in the same manner as previous tests.
