On the intersection of Gehenna and the Forsaken Rift was Chaz Ambrose's deadbeat dad, Mr. Redd (Discontinued). In his right hand, the bars of a cage, in which a still-living turkey trembled with fear. His left hand, a knife-shaped object wrapped in seasonal paper. On his face, that clear and present disappointment Chaz had come to expect from him. But that was fine; Chaz could dish disappointment in turn.

Mr. Redd grimaced a bit more than usual. "Surprised you'd come at all. Thought you'd be happy with your pansy board."
