((My main idea with this was to avoid using the word "headscratcher" anywhere in the article, then on the main listing page its categorized as "Well, that's a headscratcher." I'm also not really married to the beginnings of the narrative being put together here, which was envisioned as the d-class being connected with the CI, who uses the anomaly to breach containment and get out of foundation custody.))

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Uncontained

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a Standard Secure Containment Locker at Site-42.1

MTF Omicron-1 ("Get Backers") are to remain deployed to search for and recover SCP-XXXX. Once recovered, a member of Omicron-1 is to remain in physical contact with the object until its recontainment in Site-42.

Additionally, D-19944 is to be considered a valuable source of information regarding GoI-0002 "Chaos Insurgency". Live recontainment of D-19944 is to be considered top priority, and attempted at the earliest available opportunity.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a wire scalp massager with a copper handle. When posed a question regarding SCP-XXXX's appearance, function, purpose, or any other property of the object, anyone able to see the object and understand the question will enter a state of deep thought. This period of contemplation is recorded to last between 45 - 90 minutes, depending largely on the complexity of the question posed.

While affected individuals remain largely unresponsive to their surroundings, intense pain, or the perception of obvious and immediate danger have proven effective in restoring responsiveness. In either case, the subject will not have a clear answer to the question posed, and do not recall the time spent in thought.

The mind-affecting properties of SCP-XXXX are known to manifest through audio and visual recordings of the object. The only known method of avoiding this effect is the establishment of direct skin contact with SCP-XXXX.

TEST: Baseline anomalous properties test.

NOTE: D-19944 placed in a testing chamber with SCP-XXXX resting on a table. D-19944 had been provided with a list of actions to perform with the object. Dr. Durand observed from an adjoining room through closed circuit loop.

D-19944 sits down, unfolding the list of instructions and reading them. After several seconds of reading, she looks around the room.

D-19944: Allo? Is someone listening to me?

Dr. Durand: Yes, someone is. Please proceed with the instructions you were provided.

D-19944: Everyone here is so impersonal. The least you can do is tell me what to expect.

Dr. Durand: No, the least I can do is nothing, which is what I'm going to do. You will not be allowed to leave the testing chamber until you proceed with the instructions you were provided.

D-19944 makes a mocking face at the chamber's speaker, then sighs. She picks up the object and begins manipulating it in several ways specified in the instructions, ranging from applying pressure to the prongs, to applying the device to her scalp.

D-19944: You are all so paranoid. Did you think zis was dangerous or something?

Dr. Durand: Foundation policy prohibits knowingly exposing unprepared D-class personnel to dangerous anomalies.

D-19944: Ah so you weasel your way to saying you don't know if zis is even dangerous?

D-19944 begins shaking SCP-XXXX towards the chamber's speaker and shouting.

D-19944: Do you know what zis does?

Dr. Durand: Uhh…

D-19944: Oh what? Don't know how to say it might be dangerous while maintaining plausible deniability, you bureaucratic coward?

D-19944: Hmm…

D-19944 begins yelling louder.

D-19944: What is wrong with you? Are you an idiot?
