The following information has been compiled by the Department of Archeology and Pseudo Factual Histories. In accordance with the Empyrean Doctrine, DAPFH personnel are advised to read this and supplementary documentation prior to experimentation of or expeditions pertaining to anomalies associated with the Pleiades Star Cluster. Supplementary excerpt: the Pekelné Oko of Vítkov Hill for more details.

This preface is based on meticulous interrogation into several bodies of work including but not limited to; a journal penned by Jan Hus, research notes by Grigori Rasputin labeled under "Precognitive Communications: Tsarist Stars", and the Chronica Boëmorumand belonging to the Foundation front organizations and information warehouses. The latter two of which were seized from raids on compounds belonging to the GRU "P" and the GOC following 1989. Further research determining factual accounts from conflicting counter-intelligence and personal accounts are ongoing.

3 November 1414 - The Societas Draconistarum1 had invited Jan Hus2 under the guise of safe conduct. Instead, Jan Hus was transferred to the Gottlieben on the Rhine, Constance by order of Bishop John XXIII and was jailed for his part in creating a religious schism between the Church and the people.

6 July 1415 - On the day of his execution, Jan Hus muttered several words before he ignited himself in an explosion of blue flames. Several days later, the Taborites and the Utraquists3 promptly after his execution.

The following is a Council of Constance Record describing these events:

… the thirty-nine sentences, lashes, hot prons, and castration did not break the heretic. A mere demon wearing the skins of lamb; folded and wrinkled to build the deception of a priest! Not only had the avian monstrosities flocked across the skies following days after his execution, but even the execution could only be deemed preternatural and witchcraft to all within the Lord's domain. For when the dawn had come and the first wisps of candlelight had been set across the parlor for the priests under the Pope's retinue, the craven aberrant dispersed in flames! Providence came to Sigismund of Luxembourg, King of the Romans4 and protected him as the flames did not engulf him like his men in their spread to the aisles below the guillotine. By the Lord, the torrential flames… Blue, like the cursed Blue Maidens that plagued Czech and all of Bohemia with their pagan dealings, river hymns, and unrestricted baptisms…

…countless young women were led to the lakes and drawn in by those concubines to the Devil! And so it seems the honorable Hus had too though sadly, with his entire flock. I shall consult higher powers than my own to resolve this, but my instincts point to only one solution. The countryside must be wiped clean lest their crop despoil the Empire. A crusade must be organized. Only the Lord shall know his own when they come to his Gates…

…the dogmas he wrote in the De potentate papae demarcated not only particular names belonging to ruling nobility that it "claimed" had betrayed their people, pointlessly accusing them of heresies and godless ambition. Not only had it proscribed violence and rebellion as a remedy to the peasantry's famines and plagues and stillbirths. It's insidious proclamation denoted a meticulous implantation of djinns, daemons, and somehow, the stars themselves into those very royal families that would gradually lead to succession wars in the following years. It is this humble bishop's opinion that the realm must be secured, cleansed, salted, and their nobles stripped of titles, claimants, and land so that we may rid this schism from history itself…

-O'Brien

EDIT: Worth noting, this differs from baseline history as it suggests the Hussite factions formed four years prior to the Hussite Wars. The Council of Constance and Papal Inquisitors would go on to confiscate 1,521 carrier pigeons possessing "anti-papal" encrypted glyphs. They allegedly sunk to the ground in mid-flight by unknown means. Redacted European folktales would go on to name the event the Day of Pheasant Pies From the Skies.

-O'Brien

20 October 1415 - The Wycliffe's doctrine delineates who best to serve as a true Christian priest. Most Hussite factions5 cease all extraneous forms of worship.

21 October 1415 - A "random number generator" built from dismantled parts of a windmill in Prague. It was fed hundreds of Bibles, several holy skulls, numerous crosses, two pieces of regalia, twelve offspring belonging to nobles, and an indistinct number of goats in order to print out an encrypted cipher that would sort true Christians from false ones.

17 December 1416 - John the Fearless6 dies due to interaction with an unknown humanoid. A surrogate fashioned from his entrails and worms votes in the next Societas Draconistarum council to repeal research restrictions pertaining to the origin of the realm of Proxima below Silene, Libya.

29 March 1417 - At a gathering of Hussite royalty, the true Chronica Boëmorum7 is unveiled by an incarnation of Libuše.

Libuše_B.jpg

Libuše founder of Praha or Prague.

The incarnate is draped from head-to-toe in honey-suckle, chocolate, and rose flowering vines, her eyes are bleached white. Her hair is a fleece of goat and lamb's wool; a deluge of blood drips from her forehead like freshly slaughtered meat. Cicadas roam about her crevices and bosom. She bears no clothing, and her skin glows an eerie bright-green.

"I see a great city. Whose glory will touch the stars", she reads to her audience. "But what does that really mean? To touch the stars? To suck her teat. To know. "

"It is a Greater Prague I speak of, my Lords. The truest claim, nay, only. For there are many crowns and many thrones. A crown of blue. A throne in red. All casts shadows, so large and wide, from which you all plot and scheme. The vastness of true authority, always lingering. Know this. Darkness is true authority. Darkness will be your heirs, steel, livestock, and grain. Darkness will be the men you marry, the country you carry and will hide your short-sighted daggers from one another."

"You stare at your fellows, some with jealousy, others with murderous intent… waiting to lay bare whatever claimant or ambition, spurred by fantasies of riches, land, and titles. But Darkness lingers, with it. Eyes. That judge the world to shape and model. Time marches, and it abhors anomalies, my Lords. The sisters utter dark-twists, their hum cracks even the most erudite minds. What then, when men are left alone? Dirty, wailing, destitute. Echoing despair across cyclopean brimstone and bloody earth."

The incarnate points to the bright blue stars, drawing on the night sky like a canvas, moving stars in place. In one moment, what resembles the Bayes theorem(?)8 cascade into tree links. In another, it collapses into a four-dimensional blueprint, then rises to represent the nodes on a binary search algorithm. This process of elaboration and awe continues on for what some accounts depict as several days until the incarnate begins reading again from the book.

"That is the great city. Forged and reforged from incomprehensible names. In the empyrean threshold. The Sisters sing beyond the fringes of time. Pluck from the flesh of light, young courtiers, taste the sweet harvest. For the very first time, you will know a taste that cannot be, that never was, and shall always remain. The Duchy of the Stars."

She then points to a member of the delegation and smiles. She sinks back into the Vltava river, running southeast of Bohemia. The Chronica Boëmorum is left behind.

Further elaboration and details that give the appearance of the entity and her interactions with the court, but nonetheless, seem too purple for our purposes— even with the dialogue translation. Expeditions have unveiled no such book. -Spiczyñ

10 August 1417 - All versions of the De Ecclesia and the De potentate papae were collected by the Council of Constance (in collaboration with the Societas Draconistarum) through robbery, bribery, and mercantile spies.

22 September 1417 - A Papal Bull by Pope Martin V was contrived to ban the veneration of Wycliffe and Hus9 under threat of execution. Encrypted accounts alluding to the Phantom time hypothesis and the non-baseline civilizations were redacted.

18 December 1417 - Stibor of Stiboricz is lost in a hunting accident. A surrogate wearing his skin rides back to the deceased's properties near the river Vág. The Szécsényi family line is replaced one by one. The coffers of Sigismund's empire increase two-fold in the years to come.

11 November 1418 - Petr Chelčický convinces the Blanik Order10 to retreat from the theater of war in order to lead pious lives of pacifism. Much to the chagrin of the Utraquists.

1-10 August 1419 - Sigismund, Stibor of Stiboricz, and various courtiers under King Wenceslaus IV11 successfully assassinated the King utilizing a bloodletting ritual.

12 November 1419 - Peasants under the banner of the Hussites carrying "war worms" into battle went into open rebellion and raided several Catholic monasteries across Bohemia. Sigismund's claim on his brother Wenceslaus' land would be contested in the Hussite Wars.

20 November 1419 - A coalition of magi, alchemists and architects from the hidden tribes of Judea, Canaan, and Zarathustra make pacts with the Hussite nobles. These factions lead a sweeping revolution around Bohemia, confiscating Church property for themselves.

22 November 1419 - The acting reagent of the Hussites, Čeněk of Wartenberg gave great riches, titles, and promises of protection to the disparate hermetic orders provided they construct weaponry for him. From crossbows that shot only fire, to Warwolf Canons that reigned calcified corpses onto encroaching enemies, this pact would prove useful to the Hussites in the battles to come.

21 November 1419 - Stefan Lazarević is dismembered by his daughter, wife, mother, and son. The creatures would go on to represent Stefan in all council meetings with the Societas Draconistarum thereon. They would draft the Code of Mines under the guise of increasing Serbia's economy.

Mathew and I were lead researchers on that expedition. Never found anything on the upper levels of that ancient cave. Had already been mined dry by that time. I have submitted a proposal for Foundation dig-teams to burrow below, see what our boys can find. -O'Brien

December 1419 - Battle of Nekmíř - Seeking to end the war promptly, Sigismund sent a large contingent of crusaders to Nekmíř. The Obsidian Templars, Knights Hospitaller, Constance Cataphractii Order, and Swiss Landsknechts were led by Bohuslav von Schwanberg and they descended upon Jan Žižka's small raiding band besieging the fortress of Nekmíř.

From Techno-Organic Histories and Cultures, by Steiner Corvack,Null-Pointer Bishop of the Cogwork Missionary in Berlin;

…In response, anomalous incantations were recited by an unnamed magus; raising the ground underneath Žižka's vozová hradba12 from their inferior position, until they eclipsed the ramparts of the fortress.

Those who did not fall to their deaths or flee from the geomancy were bombarded from afar by relentless firing squads, consisting of hand gunners and arquebusiers. Warwolf canons shot down aerial reinforcements brought by the Constance Cataphractii Order bearing Aquinas levitation modules.

The knights that made it through the obstacles were gored by spears. All of Nekmíř was later conquered by the Hussites. To the chagrin of the papacy and the crusaders, their artifacts, ordained sigils, and miracles that were poised to counter the Hussite's own had not only failed them but were plucked by Žižka's men from the bodies of the dead…

25 March 1420 - Battle of Sudoměř - Due to the slaughter of Catholic priests from years prior, maintenance and preservation of the Heart of Bohemia ceased. Thus, a Herald breached containment of the inner chambers, rising from the ground like a "tall serpentine creature with a heart connecting its necks," a scholar would go on to describe. The rival factions ceased fighting and unified to defeat the incursion.

Still no information regarding this creature. Nor the artifact containing it. - Mathew

28 March 1420 - Battle of Sudoměř - Upon the Herald's termination, the ground turned to dark green marshes and red ponds from its corpse. Jan Žižka's war wagons were now on advantageous terrain as they were cut-off from the crusaders by many acres of artificial marshland.

29 March 1420 - It is unclear who shot down Břeněk of Švihov13 as Žižka's Taborites retaliated fiercely. Restructured Aquinas devices in the form of Cherubs begun carrying out bombardment campaigns over Peter of Sternberg's Bohemian Royalists14.

The Catholic Royalists managed to break through the early bombardment and penetrate the flank of Žižka's damaged war wagons. They entered the circle quickly, striking down the enemy infantry who were ill-equipped in melee combat. A decisive hole was opened for advancing knights.

30 March 1420 - Possessing inhuman strength and durability, Jan Žižka set about building anomalous constructs from the corpses of the deceased, unabated by Catholic steel. He seared them into a protective mesh and placed it atop several wooden wagons. The ten-meter long construct synchronized to other wagons. Most of the unaware men stationing them stretched and contorted into one another, becoming organs and chitin plating, strewn from sinew and bone. Before long, the first iteration of the Battle Barge was constructed.

Thick fog rolled in at night. The Royalist armies retreated from the biomechanical entity. Its firearm muzzles became elongated eyes, penetrating the dark with furious sight. Its maw opened to a spring loaded, cyclic multi-barrel weapon while merged Taborites spun the cranks around its neck. Rapid-fire auto canons sprayed grapeshot made out of sharpened calcium on those too slow in their escape. Corpses, plate armor, weaponry, regalia, etc. were consumed by the "dragon", hands bubbling on its skin began reconstructing the extant materials into wings like an assembly line.

Never found debris nor constituents, but we could definitely reverse-engineer it from resources. I say this not as a proposal to any aspiring thaumaturgical engineers or Broken God experts but as a warning. These schematics are… surprisingly comprehensive and understandable. No doubt less scrupulous GoIs would've manufactured an iteration of it with modern materials by now had the Foundation not intervened. Thank Gorbachev for liberalizing. We would never have access to the Novaya Zemlya libraries prior to the Berlin Wall falling and our United Nations allies gaining considerable amenities to classified documents from the Soviets. We would've never deduced the Tsar Bomba test was a sham to cover up these treasure troves of anthropology. -Spiczyñ
