the end of time - time just sort of ran out, some of it got recycled, there are some people after the end of time trying to survive. Someone got thrown back to the now time, hit our timeline with force, skimmed against it appearing for a few minutes every couple of years in reverse order and finally landing sometime in the past.
Their world is odd. Things happen at once and things take a very long to happen at all. People have an inherent amount of time, and can ration it. There is a disease that consumes time from people (or at least the panicked people believe there is) and getting infected by it drains all your remaining time. A timeless person becomes inconsistent, repeating actions forever and skipping others, until eventually they fade from the timeline but still have a presence in the Physical world
