Auxiliary Containment Area-424B is to remain established around SCP-XXXX-1. All testing within SCP-XXXX-1 is limited to D-Class personnel, excluding Room #5, which is restricted to all personnel. The Thaumaturgy Division is currently devising a method of accurately and consistently testing SCP-XXXX. All civilians attempting to enter SCP-XXXX-1 are to be amnesticsized and released, with all information regarding SCP-XXXX removed from their possession.

Description

SCP-XXXX is the collective designation for anomalous activity occurring within a warehouse (designated SCP-XXXX-1) in Handley, Pennsylvania. Notable observed anomalies occurring within SCP-XXXX-1 include:

• Technological phenomenon, including lighting and audio equipment manipulation.
• Visual and auditory illusions
• Several anomalous organisms (designated SCP-XXXX-2)¹

Due to the inherent danger in research and inconsistent testing results, the exact anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are currently unknown.

Discovery

On 2020/12/1, Gerald Finn² live-streamed a 37 minute video on the media sharing platform YouTube. This video was flagged by Gaargle.aic for anomalous content and upon further inspection, the video was deemed authentic.

Foreword: Gerald Finn and his cameraman, Mark Litton, spend the first 12 minutes exploring the exterior of SCP-XXXX-1 and answering questions from the stream's live chat. At 13:44 they begin the actual exploration.

[BEGIN LOG]

Gerald: Okay, for you guys just joining us, welcome to Finns Finds!

[Gerald gestures towards SCP-XXXX-1; the inscription above the door reads "Behold our Virtues".]

Gerald: Earlier this week I received a weird email invitation for an urban art gallery. We've scoped it out and it looks fairly abandoned- which is par for the course on our channel. So today we're gonna take a peek inside.

[The camera zooms in on Gerald's face.]

Mark: Let's see what Finn Finds!

[Gerald removes a small crowbar from his backpack, the camera is aimed towards the ground. The sound of creaking wood is followed by a snap. The camera refocuses on Gerald as he walks through the now open door.]

Gerald: Slap on the breather, it's dusty as fuck in here.

[The camera angle jostles as Mark and Gerald put on their air filtration masks. The camera refocuses on Gerald.]

Mark: Kinda shitty for an art gallery.

Gerald: Looks like we have five rooms here, and they have signs on the doors– let's see what we got.

[Mark follows as Gerald Approaches the first door. Gerald points at the metal placard on the door, it reads "#1 Patience".]

Gerald: Okay, what do we have behind door number 1.

[As the door slowly creeks open music can be heard from inside. The chorus to "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" by The Proclaimers is playing on repeat.]

Gerald: Cause that's not fucking weird.

[In the center of the room are five human corpses, kneeling in a praying position. The bodies show signs of extreme starvation and dehydration. The following biblical quote is written on the wall in what is assumed to be blood: "Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105". The chorus to I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) continues to play through the overhead loudspeaker.]

Gerald: Holy fuck…

Mark: Listen man, I don't think we should be he–

[The bodies snap to attention before facing the two men.]

SCP-XXXX-2: (All five corpses in unison.) We wait for zir glory!

[The corpses open their mouths, releasing five snakes of undetermined species.]

Gerald: Fuck, fuck, fuck…

[The two men run back to the hallway; immediately upon exiting the room the music ceases. Looking back the room is revealed to be empty.]

Mark: What the fuck is going on here, man? Did you set this up?

Gerald: You've been with me all week, what do you mean? This ain't me man.

Mark: Well, maybe it's some sort of exclusive, high-tech haunted house? And they just advertise as an art gallery to freak people out.

Gerald: The room's clearly empty now– its gotta be some sort of automated hologram or something.

Mark: Getting a lot of pings from chat, they wanna see what's in the next room.

Gerald: Shit, yeah, let's do it– I guess.

[The two men approach the next door. The camera zooms in on the placard, it reads "#2 Clarity". As Gerald pushes the door open the line "Because you're mine, I walk the line" from "I Walk the Line" by Jhonny Cash begins to play on repeat. As the two men enter the room the music begins to distort and lower in pitch. "For we walk by faith, not by sight. Proverbs 3:5-6" is written on the wall.]

Mark: More creepy music, check.

[Five men can be seen walking along the walls, using their hands to guide them. Their heads have been cleanly removed at the shoulders.]

Gerald: Oh fuck me, where the hell are their heads‽

[Upon hearing Gerald's voice the five men stumble towards him, arms outstretched in a searching gesture. Gerald and Mark cautiously walk backward and exit the room. The music abruptly ceases and as the door closes, the five men can be seen returning to the walls.]

Gerald: Alright fuck this, man.

[Mark grabs Gerald's shoulder as he attempts to walk past.]

Mark: Yo as much as I wanna get the fuck out of here, we've gained over 100 followers during this stream so far– we should keep going man.

[Gerald sighs exaggeratedly before turning around and heading towards the third door.]

Gerald: Door number three, "love".

Mark: Love doesn't sound too bad…

[As Gerald grips the door handle he immediately pulls it away and winces in pain.]

Gerald: Christ, that's hot.

[Using his sleeve to insulate his hand Gerald pushes open the door. The room is filled with a raging fire, several screaming human silhouettes can be seen running through the flames. An instrumental version of the song "Walk Through Fire" by Bad Company echoes from the room. After starring into the room for approximately 32 seconds, Gerald closes the door.]

Gerald: [Looking into the camera.] Love, am I right?

[After sharing a bottle of water, the two men approach the fourth door. The placard on the door reads, "#4 Sacrifice".]

Gerald: Ominous.

[Gerald opens the door and enters the room, five humanoid smoke entities are facing the rear wall. Upon this wall the following is written: "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet." John 13:14.]

Gerald: Oh, fun, smoke monsters.

Mark: Chat wants you to try and touch them, I don't know if that's a go– fuck man!

[A smoke entry is now standing directly behind Gerald, as he turns around he stumbles backward. The entity grabs Gerald by his left arm, severing it at the elbows and eliciting a pained scream. Gerald waves his arm frantically as a smoke appendage begins to form.]

Mark: Shit, man, I got you!

[Mark grabs Gerald and pulls him to the door as he continues to scream. All five entities are now approaching the door as Mark slams it shut.]

Gerald: My arm!

Mark: Dude we gotta get to a hos– oh shit, your arm!

[The camera focuses on Gerald's now restored arm.]

Gerald: This place is fuckin' wild, man.

[The camera focuses on the final door.]

Mark: One more left, you up for?

Gerald: We made it this far.

[Gerald approaches the door and scratches a layer of grime from its placard.]

Gerald: Number five, "transcendence".

[Gerald opens the door slowly, the room is less disheveled than the previous rooms and appears to be empty.]

Mark: Well, that's a little anticlimactic.

Gerald: Maybe they never finished it?

[Gerald walks to the center of the room. The quote, "When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One'… Revelation 1:17", is visible on the southern wall.]

Gerald: Hello? No more tricks? No mor–

[Several pairs of discolored human legs reach down and pull the now screaming Gerald through the ceiling. Mark turns to exit the room before yelping as a grey blur of motion pulls Mark to the ceiling, causing him to drop the camera. A distorted version of the chorus to "Get on Your Feet" by Gloria Estefan begins playing.]

Afterword: The video was flagged and removed approximately 30 minutes after its termination. The bodies of Gerald Finn and Mark Litton were never recovered.

Further investigation revealed a high concentration of thaumaturgic residue throughout SCP-XXXX-1. Testing of SCP-XXXX has been highly inconsistent; the only constant being that each phenomenon solely exists within its designated room and all effects of these rooms are limited to space therein. Further testing is currently pending approval.

The Foundation Logistics Department has traced the ownership of the property to the "Carmine Institute of Art". The Foundation has intercepted 37 civilian attempts to enter SCP-XXXX-1, all of which were prompted by an email advertisement address from moc.liamkcaw|etutitsnienimrac#moc.liamkcaw|etutitsnienimrac. Attempts to ascertain the origin of these emails have been inconclusive. No further information regarding the Carmine Institute or any associated persons has been discovered.
