GRANT REQUEST FOR CREATION OF ADVANCED PROSTHETIC LIMBS
PROBLEM
Statistics indicate that 176 million people globally are amputees of one or more limbs. [1] Whether it be a leg or an arm, these individuals suffer a lesser quality of life than us able-bodied individuals[2] and are unable to function in society to the same extent as the rest of the population. Furthermore, accidents caused on the job here at Prometheus Laboratories have led to a large number of amputations, which of course has led to lawsuits, loss of profits, and loss of personnel.

Prometheus Laboratories is not a charity. Though we may offer these prosthetic limbs to our own employees at a reduced cost, these are intended to be an easy avenue of income as their attachment to the paranormal is minimal, and construction mostly relies on mundane materials.
The only paranormal material required in the creation of these advanced prosthetics will be an anima core, which will require attunement per individual. This process involves a minor surgical procedure to attach the limb, as well as a minor ritual to acclimate one's anima to that of the prosthetic.
SOLUTION
With this proposal, we aim to increase both productivity for Prometheus Laboratories and the world alike. We hope to achieve this via the creation of anima1 powered prosthetic limbs. By using Polyvinyl Chloride plastic, tungsten steel, and other powerful yet easily available and non-expensive materials to create these limbs, they will hopefully be accessible to high-end insurers only to maximize profits.

Though traditional prosthetics have existed for centuries, our advanced models allow for the body to acclimate to the prosthetic via an anima-to-soma2 bonding session. The limbs will possess full range of motion, with similar bending limits to normal limbs. Hands will be able to move fingers and wrists, legs will be able to move toes and ankles. They will not, however, be able to feel pain. Studies have additionally found that these advanced prosthetics greatly reduce the odds of a patient suffering phantom pain/sensations on their newfound limbs by about 23%.[3]
BUSINESS CASE
Based on a focus group of amputees, 99% stated that they would use this product. The product was described as high quality3, innovative4 and projected to improve their lives near universally.
To confirm this in a research setting, amputees were created, and their responses and reactions to the arms simulated in order to determine the market response. Reactions were universally positive.
Clients such as the FBI UIU, PENTAGRAM, and the Global Occult Committee would be primary benefactors of this technology, seeing as they are often at the front lines when it comes to dealing with the strange and unusual in this world. Generally, anyone in Pierre, South Dakota and Memphis, Tennessee would be a good client seeing as they face the supernatural on a more regular basis.
We predict that the armed forces of the world will be easy sells on this technology. It is easier and cheaper to replace a limb than to train a new elite soldier, after all. Though we are an American-based company, we recommend aligning ourselves with that country which is willing to pay the top-most dollar for this technology, which, according to our research, should the United States.[4]
Given global developments in a post 9/11 world, studies predict worldwide combat-related amputation rates to go up by a approximately 250% by 2010.[5] This represents a massive sales potential, which we would be in our best interest to tap.
Finally, we know of one Jay Everwood working for a podunk FBI UIU-sponsored joint named Safe Cleanup Professionals at who may be elated to receive one of these. Whether they accept or not, we plan on offering one General Stan Bowe working for Pentagram who would love to get his hands on this technology. There is also, of course, the animated remains of Elvis Presley in Memphis.
USE OF FUNDING
A majority of the budget allocated to this project, which we expect to be approximately $5 million, will go towards personalizing the anima-to-soma adjustments required in order to make the product work. We expect approximately 80% of the budget to be allocated to this
The remaining 20% will be allocated towards marketing purposes. We could hand a few of these out as test products to the aforementioned Gen. Bowe of the PENTAGRAM in order to assist with early adoption. I don't know if the King's corpse necessarily needs one of these, but we lose nothing by trying. With a few high-profile users, the rest of the market will soon follow behind them.
We would have to be careful as to not draw unwanted attention from the FBI UIU, who would likely not wish us slinging an actually anomalous product to the masses, as it would constitute a veil break. Fortunately, the anima core is easy to conceal and the technology appears to be mundane.
KNOWN ISSUES
The largest obstacle to the mass creation of this product is the anima-to-soma bonding that is required of the object in order to function. It is non-invasive, but requires a full day and minor surgery in order to connect the two. Furthermore, the product does not work if one has engaged in a tartarean pact, sold their anima, or otherwise lost their anima in any way, shape, or form.

There is, of course, also the danger of the advanced prosthetic being rejected by the soma. Though it is rare, some particularly feisty anima are capable of rejecting the advanced prosthetic as not part of it's own body, and therefore attacks it and treats it as a disease. Subjects whose soma have rejected the advanced prosthetic typically experience nausea, fever, loss of appetite, and increased light sensitivity. This will last until the advanced prosthetic is removed.
