The gentle tinkering of the music box died as she reviewed my ID, replaced with hectic panic and harsh sounds. My legs tensed up.

As I snatched my ID back, from the corner of my eye I saw a mass of darkness, taking shape into the form of an impossibly large centipede in the hallway.

Eventually, they find the person who betrayed him. He successfully argues that he is a changed man and shows how he's changed over time to atone for his sins. Most people agree he has served his time, but the hero refuses to believe that all of this forgives the man, and flees, beginning to cause a rampage.
Upon questioning, the ghost admits to Daji he had long forgiven the betrayed, but is held back due to lingering bitterness over how pointless of a life he lived. People begin trying and failing to help the ghost move on.
Eventually, the traitor's estranged wife shows up, and through magic, creates a birthday cake field through memories. She gives solace to the hero, reminding him of how even during his rampage, he made sure to secretly provide enchanted rocks to the villagers every night so they could ward him off, and that he did still possess a kind heart. Weeping, the hero takes a bite of the cake, is reminded of good he was able to do when alive and dead, and can finally pass on.

Eventually, they go over the fences and throw a ball down into hell to try and win it, only to get lost trying going through hell. It ends with letting you know this has a sequel.
