Item #: SCP-5994

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: No containment for SCP-5994 is possible. Antimemetics Division personnel who observe the anomaly are to record information on it for the duration of its arrival, if feasible. Division employees at risk of withdrawal are to be administered a low, consistent dose of Class X mnestics until such risk diminishes.

Description: SCP-5994 is an entity witnessed during 0.37% of recorded experiences of mnestic withdrawal. Attempts have been made to record its perceived physical characteristics, though personnel have rarely been able to accomplish this. The only known details are that the entity is:

  • Indeterminably human.
  • Non-humanoid.
  • Shadows cast by light sources in the vicinity.
  • A form of physicalized hypertension.
  • The color of grass during a sunset over a burnt forest.
  • Non-spherical.

Although recorded information on SCP-5994 remains perceptible at all levels of recall, knowledge of the anomaly fades as withdrawal progresses and eventually ends. Mnestic experimentation has found no memories of the anomaly to exist afterwards.

But that was before the car… That was before the tires… And I moved on already, why do you need me back down with her, why do you need to scrape me back along this asphalt?

Researcher Leire N. Aldana

If I'm not on the meds I'm not around. Yes, I was born wired that way. No, I can't unwire. If I'm not on the meds I'm not around. I can't unwire. I'm not built to be like that.

Researcher Trinh Ngô, Infobiology Dept.

I get it. Knives make a pulse bleed when they're dredged around, an ambulance-light sort of shade, where the crimson is the rate of the adrenaline speeding faster than you can prepare and the glimmer is how many stars are going to soon shoot out of its reach. But you can reach them if you dig in deeper, is what you think, correct?

Like the redshift won't overwhelm you no matter how far you push it? No, no, of course not you, you're all act and no game, easily to tell than do, tell than be.

Chemical Engineer Tsubasa Ueno, Mnestics Dept.

No number of remembrance rushes can bring it back. If they did I would cry every time we needed to spot some antimemetic bug crawling on the… Wall… All those walls you can't bring me back there because it isn't there! My mind doesn't store that house anymore! It doesn't store that blood! Do you not know what trauma means or do you think everyone's scaffolding needs to be torn skywards for it to—

Researcher Leire N. Aldana

Can't you let a chasm refill instead of drilling it deeper?

Senior Researcher Marion Wheeler

I don't know him.

Chemical Engineer Tsubasa Ueno, Mnestics Dept.

I don't want to be built like this.

Junior Researcher Dania Samara

My pupil is only going break if you twist my eye back there.

Chemical Engineer Tsubasa Ueno, Mnestics Dept.

This isn't necessary.

Researcher Leire N. Aldana

Why do you want me to not be around?

SCP-5994 is accompanied by a component anomaly (SCP-5994-A). SCP-5994-A is the ectroentropic generation of mnestic autoinjectors on the subject's person.

The following text is written on each one in black sharpie:

To hurt is to HUMAN.
To hurt is to REAL.
To hurt is to BUILD.
SECURE, CONTAIN, PROTECT.

START BEING USEFUL.

Each autoinjector is of standard Foundation make.
